Red lipstick exudes power. Not only does it make you look like a badass, but it is also a classy power move. Look at T. Swizzles. It’s her entire brand. Need to stand out? Wear red lipstick. Want to look like you’re putting effort into your looks but don’t have the energy to wear full-face makeup? Wear red lipstick.
TLDR; red lipstick is the answer to all of your problems. But, not every red lipstick is red. Each one is made differently and serve different purposes depending on the hue. Some have more orange, and some have more blue pigments. So, here is a variety of red lipsticks I like to use for different occasions.
- Estée Lauder, Pure Color Envy Hi-Lustre, Drop Dead Red
The tube container for this popping red lipstick is just as classy as the color. It’s magnetic, so once you put the lid back on it, you won’t have to worry about the lipstick not closing all the way. This Estée Lauder lipstick is a classic bright red color that is semi-matte, so it gives a nice cohesive look but doesn’t dry out your lips. The color looks good in any outfit you wear.
- Two-Face, Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick, Lady Balls
I especially like this color when I want to look put together for hours. This stays on for so longggg. You decide when you want to take it off. Also, if you’re going to a party and plan on eating, this lipstick doesn’t smear as much compared to other brands. You want to look good eating that medium-rare steak; this is the one for you.
- Fenty, Stunna Lip Paint,Uncensored
At first, the formula is really watery, but once you wait a few minutes, I promise that you’ll look almost as good as Rihanna (no one can look as good as her; you can come close tho). Also, this packaging is beautifully elegant.
- Smashbox, Always on Liquid Lipstick, Disorderly
I like to pair this color with a light pink outfit. The darker red and light pink act like a ying-yang situation, balancing out your look. Smashbox’s line also includes a brighter red if you don’t want to wear a darker red. It feels really light on your lips.
- Glossier, Generation G, Zip
Maybe you don’t want the vibrant red, and you’re looking for something subtler. Glossier is the cosmetic company just for you. The Generation G adapts to your lip color to create a more natural look. A great minimalistic look!
Bonus: Huda, Power Bullet Metallic, NYE
I feel like a badass unicorn wearing this shade. The glittery shine in the metallic formula is just splendid. Your highlight won’t be able to compete with the shine of your lips.
